So, my music.

Posted by StatusZer0 - March 9th, 2024

So I was about to upload a new music piece called "Overseen" but it got copyright striked. And turns out, I used FL Studio's built-in loop, DL Minimal. Turns out, the music I "infringed" also used that loop, so I'm getting striked for using a built-in loop that someone else used. Pretty shitty reason. The 2 pieces do sound similar, but I never heard it until I got striked while editing the details for my new song. Gonna try and sort this out as soon as I can, and I'll upload the music once it's sorted.

I'm not an expert, but historically, there's a good chance that you would have to pay for using such a loop in your work.
If you want to know what is 'actually' going on, ask in the forums, rather than talking to the void.

The loop was built-in to FL Studio so everyone can use it. It's only saying it's infringement because another song uses that same loop, so I shouldn't have to pay for it.

Well, if the ToS in that software confirm that legal status, you should send an appeal (or whatever that form is called). You should see the option 'somewhere' on NG, but I've never been in that situation myself.
